Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at those wishing to up skill from previous training undertaken and those who wish to pursue a course which covers a greater range of knowledge and skills in more depth than introductory courses. The Emergency First Responder course is the recommended starting point to develop a career in the Pre Hospital Emergency Care field.
General Aims
The course will enable the learner to provide pre hospital emergency care to Emergency First Responder Level.
Method of Delivery
The course will be delivered through both theory lectures and practical skills sessions. Throughout the course continuous assessment will be employed to ensure progression and to enhance students knowledge and skills.
Duration: 6 Days.
Assessment
The assessment for the course will be split between theory examinations and practical skills demonstrations or OSCE’s.
Certification
This course is accredited by PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council), certificates awarded are outlined below:
- PHECC Cardiac First Response Certificate*
- PHECC Emergency First Responder Certificate
*The first day of this course covers Cardiac First Response, it is necessary to complete this before the Emergency First Responder course. If you are a PHECC certified Cardiac First Responder you are exempt from this day of the course.
